DSE Career Guidance Event

On the morning of 4 July 2024, The Outstanding Young Persons Association, Social Seed, and the Yau Tsim Mong District Office collaborated to host the “DSE Talk (Yau Tsim Mong District)” career event at our school. The event's primary goal was to provide students with guidance to help them make informed decisions regarding their educational and career paths.

During the event, Dr. Chong Shuk Ching, the Vice-chairperson of The Outstanding Young Persons Association and recipient of the HK TOYP Award in 2018, shared her career journey. From selecting elective subjects in secondary school to becoming a Specialist in Genetics and Genomics (Paediatrics), she emphasised the importance of setting goals and creating long-term plans.

The second speaker Ms. Louise Kwong, a renowned soprano and HK TOYP Awardee in 2019, shared her passion for music and perseverance in the field. She discussed the essential qualifications required for musicians and highlighted the challenges faced in establishing a music career in Hong Kong. Additionally, she performed for the students, adding a special touch to the event. The students gained valuable insights from the speakers, learning that pursuing dreams in any field requires clear goal-setting and persistence.

A special acknowledgment goes to our esteemed alumnus Mr. Pun Chi Ho, Steven, who played a pivotal role in initiating and organising the talk at his alma mater.

Strengthening Bonds with Shanghai Beihong Senior High School - A Memorable Trip

Our recent 5-day trip to Shanghai, from 23 to 27 April 2024, was a remarkable experience for our student group. Led by Vice-Principal Mr. Leung and accompanied by teachers Mr. Fung and Mr. Lee, we embarked on this journey with a clear purpose: to further strengthen the existing sister-school bond with Shanghai Beihong Senior High School.

During our stay, our students had the privilege of immersing themselves in the vibrant city of Shanghai. They attended regular classes at Beihong Senior High, gaining insights into their educational system and fostering cross-cultural connections. The enriching cultural exchange activities allowed our students to appreciate the diversity and dynamism of Shanghai’s local culture.

A highlight of the trip was the opportunity to visit the families of the Beihong student ambassadors. These personal interactions provided a unique window into daily life, traditions, and values. Our students returned home with new perspectives, a deeper appreciation for a culture different than theirs, and memories that will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on their lives.

As we continue to nurture this valuable partnership, we look forward to more collaborative endeavors that bridge the gap between our schools and foster lifelong friendships.

F.3 Parents’ Gathering 2023-2024

We warmly welcomed 118 parents to our F.3 Parents’ Gathering on 13th April 2024. The event commenced with a heartfelt welcome from our Principal, Mr. Leung. This was followed by an informative session led by our Vice-principal, Mr. Ching, who elucidated the senior secondary education framework, school places allocation process, and our approach to National Security Education. Our Career Mistress, Ms. Chan, then expertly linked senior secondary subject selections to university admission criteria. Subsequently, our school social worker, Ms. Wong, offered valuable advice on how parents can guide and support their children through the elective subject selection process. The gathering concluded with a vibrant exchange of ideas between parents and form teachers.

A heartfelt thank you to all F.3 parents for your enthusiastic involvement, which made this event both meaningful and successful.
